We moved out of our little rock house in late September 2015.
We stored all the big stuff (and the kitchen sink!) at our friends house.
Everything in the trailer… just need to find places to store it all.
We applied for a permit with the County and built a driveway.
Summer faded into fall, and we spent our time preparing our trailer for the cold (you can read more about that in this post) as well as exploring the area.
Painting the generator shed we built.
Surveying our kingdom.
Aspen band around the mountain.
Walking the Arizona Trail.
Halfway up the south side of Walker Lake.
Playing a mountain song.
Hiking at Aspen Corner.
My parents came to visit. Unfortunately they saw the trailer on a dark, cloudy day and couldn’t enjoy the views. But they did help us work on our house floor plan.
We had a “Prairie Party” in late October with friends and neighbors.
Burning the painted wood in the chiminea since we couldn’t use it in the wood stove. He got the fire going so hot the chiminea cracked!
They couldn’t make it to the party, but enjoyed the prairie anyway.
We got settled in nicely.
Just in time for winter.
